    September 26, 2018

The juxtaposition of these two stories most likely did not escape the editor.

    1. “According to the report, Gaza’s economy contracted by 6 percent in the first quarter of 2018. It said unemployment is now over 50% — and over 70% among Gaza’s youth.
It said in a report that one in two people in Gaza suffers from poverty.”
    2.  “Michael Kors said on Tuesday that it would buy Versace, the Italian fashion house, for $2.1 billion in a bid to challenge Europe’s conglomerates at a time of rapid consolidation in the global luxury market. […] . Last year, Kors bought the shoe designer Jimmy Choo for 896 million pounds, or $1.2 billion at current exchange rate.”
